OUR EXPERTS
The customer sought to broaden their brand’s reach in digital channels by introducing a dedicated mobile application. The mobile application developed by Itransition introduced new ways to engage with customers, promote specialized events and hospitality offerings, and support long-term business goals.
Our customer is the owner of Cos d’Estournel – a winery located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, France. The estate is located on the hillside of Cos and was inherited by Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel in 1791. Over time, he expanded the property and established vineyards on a terroir known for its complexity and richness. Since 2000, Cos d’Estournel, classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, has been owned by Michel Reybier. In 2008, the estate introduced Bordeaux's first gravity-flow wine cellar, which marked an important technical improvement in the region.
It is a pleasure to work with the Itransition team; communication is smooth and the teams are

While the winery maintained a digital presence through its website, the customer sought to broaden their brand’s reach in digital channels by introducing a dedicated mobile application, pursuing the following objectives:
Itansition developed a cross-platform application using Flutter for a luxury winery company, helping them provide useful information, self-service capabilities, and tailored experiences to wine enthusiasts, private collectors, industry professionals, and winery visitors.
The mobile application developed by Itransition delivered a seamless experience tailored to wine enthusiasts, private collectors, industry professionals, and tourists interested in visiting the estate. The app supports multiple languages and offers structured content with tiered access levels to accommodate different user groups. In addition to development, we provided consulting support, offering feature suggestions and strategic guidance to ensure the app’s functionality aligned with the client’s broader business vision.
We developed the mobile application using Flutter, enabling cross-platform deployment for both iOS and Android, with mobile updates distributed via the App Store and Google Play.
To support app-specific functionality, our team developed a dedicated mobile backend, built with Node.js and hosted on Scalingo.
The application is organized into five main sections and distinguishes between three user types, which is enabled by the implemented authentication flow. VIP members gain access to exclusive content, hospitality-related offers and deals, and invitations to special events.
The Home section offers an overview of the estate’s history and provides access to fulllength videos and virtual tours, including interactive VR panoramas, allowing users to explore the estate’s pagodas, tasting rooms, vat room, and cellars.
The Cos Chronicles section serves as a content hub, where the estate shares regular updates on its activities throughout the year. They cover everything from vineyard care to cellar practices, offering a clear view of the wine production process. The estate also provides perspectives from its partners, who share their thoughts and give expert reviews on the character and quality of Cos d’Estournel wines. Moreover, articles and podcasts explore the connection between wine and food, reflecting the estate’s approach to pairing fine wines with culinary traditions.
The My Cellar section allows users to list their wines in their virtual cellar, consult tasting notes, and ask the customer's technical team for specific advice on their wines.
The Events section presents a curated catalog of upcoming and past winery-related events. Users can filter events by location and format (e.g. masterclass, wine dinner, wine tasting, wine fair, etc.).
The Michel Reybier Hospitality section showcases the broader luxury hospitality portfolio of Michel Reybier, owner of Cos d’Estournel. Users can explore a curated selection of affiliated wine tourism destinations, including high-end hotels, spas, and restaurants located in various cities and countries. Exclusive packages are available for VIP members.
The application content is managed through an easy-to-use admin panel powered Prismic, a cloud-based content management system. With Prismic, we empowered the customer's team with full control over publishing and updating content without special training or coding required, avoiding the ongoing costs typically associated with technical support.
To keep users informed and engaged, the app supports push and email notifications. These alerts cover new content releases, upcoming events, booking confirmations, and personalized updates based on user location and preferences. To enhance the user experience, we introduced scroll and screen transition animations, contributing to a more polished and engaging interface that reflects the brand’s premium positioning.
The development of the mobile application marked a significant step forward in the winery’s digital transformation, allowing the company to:
