Shopify Team Lead
Description
We are looking for a Shopify Technical Lead to ensure new functionality in accordance with guidelines and timeframes. In this role you will be responsible for leading technical project teams, developing Shopify web applications, Shopify Apps and contributing to client pitches.

Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Substantial, relevant experience in software development, including at least 2-3 years specifically in Shopify development
- Expertise in Liquid, HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, PHP and experience with 3rd party services and APIs
- Experience working with Discount Functions and Checkout UI Extensions
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and code versioning tools (e.g., Github)
- Understanding of cross-browser/device/platform issues and solutions
- Experience working in an Agile environment and possibly acting as a scrum master
- Experience in leading a development team or acting in a senior developer role
- Experience with Shopify Plus and managing international, multi-store, multi-language environments
- Any certifications or additional training specific to Shopify, web development, or project management
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Architecture: Provide architectural solutions, guide the project's technical direction, and oversee the implementation of high-quality, standards-compliant features
- Project Planning & Execution: Lead the assessment, decomposition, and planning of complex work (epics/features), ensuring alignment with project goals and specifications
- Code Quality & Processes: Champion best practices, conduct code reviews, and define/document technical approaches for VCS, CI/CD, and environments
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Delegate tasks, mentor developers, onboard new members, resolve technical conflicts, and foster professional growth
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Effectively communicate and justify technical decisions to clients, product managers, and business analysts to align on goals and expectations
- Incident Management: Lead incident reviews, provide direction for resolution, and drive improvements to system reliability
- Team Culture: Promote a collaborative, productive environment focused on continuous learning, open communication, and knowledge sharing
