The project idea was based on the following business model: backup service offer should include hardware connected with the local network and in-built software components. Two versions of the appliance were designed: a backup appliance and a storage one.
The customer is a European provider of Backup of Exchange Data to disk/Backup over IP solutions.
To reduce support costs the software runs from flash-module which can be easily built into the appliance or removed by a support-manager on the production/support phase. Users can easily change the system settings with administration web-tool.
The solution became popular across Europe because of substantial product advantages and effective and efficient marketing strategy.
