Remote VoIP Testing

VoIP Solutions |Quality Assurance |Telecommunications

The customer is a major communication software producer who needed remote testing of his current phone communication monitoring system before transferring it from the PSTN technology to VoIP.

After the testing had been complete our testing specialists introduced recommendations on quality improvement for the customer's SoftPhone software. The types of endpoints that caused most problems were revealed. Conflicts between the legacy and new hardware were documented (even though this was beyond the testing scope). As a result of the load testing, threshold values for the system were found out. After the system was reconfigured as recommended, its performance increased.

Itransition performed the following for this project:

  • performed system access tests for the current and the new equipment with different test sequences, connection speed and call duration;
  • appraised the quality of audio information transfer on the new equipment;
  • used various types of devices, protocols and codecs for all tests;
  • held system load tests to check its stability under large numbers of users;
  • estimated the quality of the new softphone communication software developed by the customer.
