The Customer needed a business community building platform for academic institutions, professional associations, and event organizers. The key of the project is that it allows delivering relevant content to users of large communities (which may have sub-communities or smaller groups within them).

Itransition developed a new scalable and extensible online community platform with typical community functionality, such as my page/my profile, private mail, message board, thematic blogs, social networking features (my friends, friends of my friends, etc.), event calendar and other.
The Customer, a European technology company specializing in high-value online networking solutions, had a similar system based on obsolete technologies and wanted to replace it. The new solution unites different groups of people to make online discussions, create documents, collaborate with colleagues and friends and get a quick access to a huge stock of relevant information.
The system has minimized menus and typically requires two mouse clicks from the Main Screen to access any information or perform any function. This increases members’ involvement and creates lasting and effective membership experience.
System Highlights:
- Calendar of upcoming events
- Threaded Discussions with a Watchlist (a tool to track discussions users are interested in)
- Private Mailbox and Recent Documents sections
- Library of documents and helpful resources with an ability to discuss each item in the Library
- Rich administrative capabilities (customization of templates, moderation, version control, activity statistics tracking and analysis)
- Integrated Online Payments
Technologies:PHP, Javascript, AJAX, MySQL, Apache 1.3
