The Customer – a global media hosting provider from the USA needed software to manage their huge media metadata. They contacted Itransition with a request to implement a platform for building media content sites, that would provide streaming network and creating many different media content sites.

We created an entirely new web solution that benefited the customer and met his needs in the best possible way. Thanks to the pre-implementation investigation of the previous concepts and structures by our business analysts and technical experts we managed to incorporate all the advantages and avoid all the system bottlenecks.

Implemented API endpoints support REST, XML-RPC, and JSOM transport protocols.

The key features of the system are: user management; media management; security control; professional content management; folksonomy; community.

The platform had the following architecture requirements:

  • High availability.
The system should be 99.99% time available.
  • Horizontal scalability.
The growing number of users and load increase shouldn’t hamper the system operation.
  • High fault tolerance.
The system should be 100% tolerant to hardware and software failures. Key components backup.
  • Easy maintenance and support.
All the system servers (100+) must be easy to maintain and support.

Technologies: .NET 2.0, C#, Memcached, Spread, Sphinx.
