Initially the company mostly used the following solutions for internal and external communication and sales tasks: corporate web-site, intranet-site, extranets and presentation demos. Intranet and corporate web-site are strong marketing tools which facilitate effective communicating among Genesys’ employees, their clients. The hundreds of extranet sites contain information about Genesys services and provide sign-up service for customer users.
Genesys was managing and supporting all these solutions using internal development resources when requested Itransition to develop a web-based content management system for “extranets” - Genesys Extranet Builder. Itransition came up with an application design proposal that allows marketing end-users to create and deploy extranet sites without technical stuff support. The other important point is less licensing fees required to be paid. After creation of the initial technical prototype of the system finally approved by the customer, the project was started.
While the project running the Core Offshore Dedicated Team was formed with the following basic functions:
- New solutions Research and Development;
- Maintenance of already developed solutions;
- End-users Support.
After the project had been finished taking into consideration all the benefits experienced the company decided to work with the Offshore Dedicated Team on continuing basis.
