The core of the project was quality assurance of Windows applications included virtual PC laboratory creation, installation and licensing mechanisms development, test automation scripts writing.

To achieve client’s objectives and to ensure that the application work smoothly in different conditions and all up-to-date quality requirements are kept, we focused on performing different types of tests:

• Installation testing;
• Licensing mechanism testing;
• Functional testing;
• Stress testing;
• Performance testing;
• GUI testing;
• Regression testing;
• Usability testing.

A detailed final report was presented to the client for evaluation and discussion after testing iteration.

Technologies used: Rational ClearQuest web-based defect tracking system, QuickTest Professional 6.5, Mercury Interactive’s tool for testing dynamically changing applications and web sites, AShampoo UnInstaller Suite v1.1.32, Sysinternals Registry Monitor, Sysinternals File Monitor, Virtual PC 2004 (Win2000, XP) 5.3.582, ADSI Edit (monitoring licensing info).

Efforts: 6 man-months.
