Itransition Business analysis team defined the scope of the project and created the corresponding software requirements specification. An important task was to define and formalize the process of procurement, which has several stages, to offer creation, validation, acceptation or rejection, notifications, delivery organization and arrangement, and etc.
The system consists of two parts: the administrator's part and the supplier's part with the following functionality:
Administrator's part:
- Users management;
- Contacts management;
- Stock management for inspection of goods, available in stock from all suppliers;
- Web site content management - for news and other information, available for suppliers;
- Goods management - for examination of suppliers' offers of new goods;
- Offers management - for suppliers' offers management;
- Delivery notifications - for suppliers' notifications viewing.
Supplier's part:
- Information board - viewing news, changes and events;
- Data and facts - where a supplier can see his goods sales yearly statistics. The data is presented in a graphical form;
- Order plan - the possibility to track the amount of goods in stock and to offer additional supply;
- Orders and Production- the possibility to track order status (validated, not validated and rejected);
- Delivery notifications - the possibility to track delivery notifications status;
- Items - the list and description of goods that are offered on a regular basis
- Offer inquiry - the possibility to offer a new type of goods;
- Purchasing conditions - purchasing conditions and terms description.
Technologies used: PHP 4.3, DHTML, PHP 4, JavaScript, HTML, MySQL 4.0.1, Apache 2.0, MS Project 2002.
