The existing Intranet portal solution is vital for the company’s successful operations. Thus, efficient product support and its further evolution are critical: it should be adapted quickly and regularly to new business needs and requirements. The client worked on the project with another software company, but was not fully satisfied with the results.

Itransition was contracted by the client to take over some of the previous provider’s work and start further maintenance and development activities. The client required that  there should be no communication between Itransition and the client’s current software development services provider. The project development team lacked information about the product, as there was no information exchange between the current software development services provider and Itransition.

The first phase of the project was system revision: two technical experts were working on the project. They performed initial reverse re-engineering of the product and understood its internals. At this early stage the team was communicating closely with the requirements manager on the client side.

During the second phase, the team was supporting the existing product, fixing the problems identified by the customer, and developing  new components.

The first new modules were delivered one month after the project start date.

The system features the following modules:

  • Process management tools;
  • Document library;
  • Graphical report builder module.
