Interstate Ecommerce Centre for the Byelorusian Government Alphabetically; E-commerce In 1999 the President of Belarus issued a decree on governmental support of e-commerce in Belarus. Special attention was paid to the development of B2B e-commerce solutions that could increase the export potential of Belorussian industrial enterprises. The idea of IECC was developed by the Ministry of Economics and the National Center of Marketing and Price Conjuncture. After the State tender was conducted, Itransition Software Development Company was selected as the project vendor, among all the leading Belorussian software development companies. The requirements specification and supplementary documentation were developed in close cooperation with the project stakeholders – specialists from the Ministry of Economics and the Marketing Center. One of the requirements was to build a powerful back-end system that would allow easy portal management. The requirement was implemented in Admin interface that allows visual portal management. The system features as follows:
IECC is a loosely coupled distributed intelligent application that is based on the J2EE technology. Using the three-tier model (business logic, the presentation layer and the persistence layer) allows reaching high portability, scalability and easy support of the application. It helped to organize simultaneous work of the designer, the development and database architecture teams. Such well known patterns as Front Controller, View Helper, Business Delegate and many others promoted by SUN Microsystems were successfully implemented in the application. Powerful planning and decision-making module is responsible for monitoring user actions to improve security of the application based on the JAAS technology. Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) technology improves load balance and stability of the application. All these facts ensured that the high quality and efficient application was provided on time and within the allocated budget. Technologies used: J2EE 1.3 (EJB-services, Servlets, XML), JSP and Servlets, DHTML, Java, HTML, JavaScript, Oracle 8.1.6, Weblogic 5.1, Rational Product family, MS Project 2002. Efforts: 18 man-months Link: http://www.etp2000.com/ The idea of the project was to re-develop the existing expense management system for a French company. |
