Our customer's idea was to create a unified system that would help manage the insolvency process. On the one hand, the system should assist new owners in managing the assets and personnel of the insolvent company, on the other hand, it should organize web auctions on insolvent companies' assets. The project was developed for a German customer. BE.N UNITY web application provides major services an insolvency manager or company may need.

Be.N Unity is a J2EE 3-tier web application. One of the stages of the project was HTML prototype creation demonstrating system behavior and it's visual solution.
Be.N Unity application consists of five separate functional modules responsible for different aspects of the insolvency process:
- Insolvency Service (IS) module – insolvent company’s assets management;
- Insolvency Market (IM) module – web market for selling assets of insolvent companies;
- ChancUnity (CU) module – communication tool for employees of insolvent companies;
- 3-rd Parties module (TP) – allows third parties to observe insolvency assets;
- Be.N support (BS) – gives possibility to manage support question from all application modules;
- Administration Module – serves for setting application parameter and system management.
Be.N Unity application also features:
- Possible integration with e-Bay auction;
- “Action Box” e-mail service;
- Events notification service;
- Documentation storage and management;
- Billing control mechanism;
- Advanced search;
- Sophisticated forum mechanism;
- Customer support;
- Multilingual support.
Technologies and tools used: JSP and Servlet for WebSphere Application Server 4.0, stateless session EJB components, statefull session EJB and BMP EJB for DB2 7.x, Intel-based platform, Rational Product family, MS Project 2000, Rational Robot.
Efforts: 168 man-months.
