ECM for Software Development Company
Itransition had a lot of unstructured information (shares, exchange folders, corporate file server, etc.) that required significant management costs and long hours of manual work. We also suffered from information loss. To solve this problems our team developed an enterprise content management solution built into an intranet portal and designed to aggregate different information; to improve knowledge sharing; and to streamline business processes with the ultimate goal of advanced productivity.
The solution has been used for 1.5 years without any data loss and has 99.99% uptime (less than 2 hours of total downtime). The number of users has doubled since the primary implementation (due to company’s growth) and the hardware platform was scaled out to support further load rise (one more front-end server was added).
Several new services were added to the ECM, including an e-learning solution and a consolidated corporate photo library with an advanced AJAX interface.
System Highlights:
- Secured Unified access point. The Itransition Enterprise Content Management (IECM) solution provides a secure unified access point in the form of a Web user interface. One can easily get to shared information, computing resources and collaboration facilities, as well as to CRM, project and document management tools.
- Rich functionality. IECM implements full-featured Document and Records Management (metadata, security, retention, distribution, versioning, etc.), Web Content Management (templates, localization, two-stage publishing, etc.) and Business Process Management (automated workflows, notifications, monitoring, etc.).
- Communication and collaboration features. IECM was designed to facilitate horizontal and vertical communication within the organization. It features discussion boards, categorized news, and blogs with commenting capability.
- Enterprise-wide integration. The solution is integrated into the company’s infrastructure, including the Microsoft Project Server, CRM solution, help desk, issue tracking system and data warehouse solution. The IECM portal contains a home, forum, search and library area.
