Itransition built a contemporary, interactive and rich web site with the use of Ajax. Visitors can register on the site, log in, publish comments and rate content. Based on user ratings, top content results are calculated and displayed. When users view the site content, each single piece is considered, although it leads to processing of tens of millions views altogether.
In addition to the web portal, the client requested to build a flash media player for viewing the site’s content. The idea of the player was that a user viewed the content together with dynamically generated advertisements and additional related features, such as a playlist and embedded URLs. Our design team created an aesthetic and modern look of the player. It was done in Macromedia Flash 8 and can play both video format and interactive flash movies.
In order to keep the content safe from being copied or embedded on other sites, the developers created a mechanism of dynamic temporary access keys. Each time the content was accessed from within the site, such key was generated and used for serving the content. If the attempt was made from an external resource — the movie simply would not load.
Result. The website has more than 70.000 unique visitors per day, which is quite a record, demonstrating its convenience and appealing interface, as well as availability.
